Myrtlewood Side Table Set

This custom side table set was commissioned to fit in the client's living room between their couch set. It was made from dark Myrtlewood and jet black resin for dramatic accent. The corner table's top was made from a beautiful piece of Myrtlewood that was bookmatched (butterflied) to make a stunning symmetrical design. The legs were cut into unique pentagonal prisms to match the pentagon top. To add a bit more detail, square mortise and tenon joints were used to attach the legs to the table top. The bottom shelf was also bookmatched and provides a huge surface to stash pillows, blankets, magazines, etc. 

Two side tables were made to complete this matching set. Everything was sanded to a shiny 10,000 grit and polished with Odie's Oil for a refined and smooth finish.
