Live Edge Myrtlewood Knife Magnet

This knife magnet board is made from a pretty piece of Myrtlewood with a live edge. We love using "scrap" from our other projects and turning it into useful art. Trenches were made using a router and hand chisel in the back of the board and filled with strong neodymium magnet bars. The trenches were filled with black resin to hold the magnets in place and the whole piece was sanded and finished with Odie's Oil. Two french cleat style Z-clips were put on the back to easily hang this piece on the wall without any fear of it falling.
